The Camp Equitable Employment Fund (CEEF) is a grant to decrease barriers to employment at camp for people traditionally marginalized and underrepresented in the camping industry. This program is now available at various YMCA Camps across Canada.

The fund is open to BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) Canadians aged 18 to 25 with previous experience or a demonstrated interest in working with youth. No previous camp-specific experience is required.

Successful applicants receive financial assistance to offset the personal expenses of working in the outdoor industry, including certification courses, personal gear, equipment and travel costs.

Fund Application Process:

  1. Apply for a program staff position at YMCA Camp Elphinstone and complete the interview process.

  2. Complete the CEEF Application Form and Needs Assessment.

  3. Receive your offer of employment (based on application, references, and interview).

  4. Receive notice of any awarded funds after application deadline and respond to your offer of employment.

Funding will be awarded to successful applicants across Canada in the order received and based upon available funding. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply for funding as soon as possible after applying for employment at camp.
