Group Fitness Classes
Staying active can improve your life mentally and emotionally as well as physically. And working your muscles with a motivating group of peers adds a healthy social element. Our certified YMCA instructors lead a variety of classes for all fitness abilities.
The best part is that group fitness classes are included with every membership! We have dozens of classes per week to choose from.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced swimmer, you can gain the skills and confidence you need to stay safe and enjoy the pool.
The YMCA has been offering aquatics programming & swimming lessons for over a century. Thousands of Canadians have learned to swim at the Y and continue to enjoy lane swimming, stroke improvement, water exercise and play in our state-of-the-art aquatic centres.
Your YMCA membership includes Swim lessons, aquafit classes, lane swimming, and open swim times.
Child, Youth and Family
We want to be there every step of the way through your family’s journey. We are committed to supporting families to living healthy, active lives together which is why we have a variety of options for children through their teen years. Kids and families can exercise, play and socialize together. Whether you want to take up an activity with your child or encourage them to try something new, there are plenty of ways to live healthy together.
In addition to programs included with your YMCA membership, martial arts programs such as Karate are available by registration.
Personal training at the YMCA can provide a road map for you to take your fitness to the next level, or just help get you started. Whatever your goals are, we can help.
Generation Health is a free 10-week healthy lifestyle program for children aged 8-12 years and their families. The program covers topics related to healthy living such as healthy eating, physical activity, goal-setting, healthy body image and self-confidence.
Sit and Be Fit: YMCA Chair Fitness.
Sit and Be Fit: YMCA Chair Fitness is a new health and fitness program. Offered online, participants will have the chance to improve their balance, mobility, and strength while staying connected and having fun!
This class is for adults who have limited mobility or who are at risk of falling. Participants will be guided through low-to-moderate intensity seated and standing (optional) exercises.

Choose to Move.
Choose to Move is a free choice-based, online physical activity coaching program for people ages 65+, based on the best research evidence that helps break down barriers to physical inactivity. With a certified Activity Coach, participants design a personalized physical activity program to keep you active and connected while you are at home. Made possible through our funding partners.

Canadian Fitness Connection
This free 12-week program, helps participants learn ways to stay fit while practicing English, meeting new friends and exploring Canadian life and culture. This program is for immigrants ages 19+ only. To participate, you must be a Permanent Resident or a Convention Refugee.
